PLAIN X-RAY.

X-rays are the mainstay of radiology, and we perform conventional x-rays of the chest, abdomen, bones and joints, spine, skull, sinuses etc.

 ULTRASOUND
—Ultrasound or sonar examinations are non invasive scans whereby the radiologist uses a special probe linked to a monitor to asses different parts of the body.
—Ultrasound can be used to look at the abdominal organs, the joints, the breasts, veins ,the  fetus (obstetric sonar) and the thyroid gland
FLUOROSCOPY
Fluoroscopy is an x-ray examination whereby contrast (dye) is swallowed or injected into the area of interest in order to show us the anatomy and function of various organs
—Barium swallows are useful for evaluating gastro-oesophageal reflux and other diseases of the oesophagus.
—Barium meals , follow through studies and enemas allow us to evaluate the stomach, small intestine and colon respectively. Studies of the urinary tract (eg VCUs) and genital tract(eg HSGs) are also performed
CT SCAN

Computed Tomography(CT) scans are composite x-ray studies that provide detailed information of anatomy and disease states in the body..

—Some of the most common examinations we perform are:
  • Sinuses and middle ear scans (referred by ENTs)
  • Chest and abdomen scans for cancer staging(referred by oncologists)
  • Kidney-Ureter-Bladder scans to look for stones (referred by urologists)
  • Pulmonary embolism scans (referred by physicians or surgeons)
  • Brain scans.
MRI

We have recently installed an MRI machine allowing us to offer a more comprehensive imaging service. In addition to the specialised fields of paediatric and breast MRI applications we will offer general MRI examinations such as brain, spine and muskuloskeletal scans
